Seek essentials and give the most

4 Steps (And Mind the Order)

  1. You do nothing
  2. You do something in private
  3. You do something quietly in public
  4. You do something loudly in public

If you do nothing, you get nothing. Most of the time that's exactly the right choice. But for the handful of important things you aspire for it won't do.

Doing something in private is fine. Now that you're doing it you can start getting better.

Doing something quietly in public is better. Your work might not be good enough yet but you aren't afraid to show it. Most people don't notice or care. Occasionally you strike a chord and win some praise or feedback. But you don't get too excited by it. You just keep on working.

And then one day you know you're ready. The fans are already with you. Now you can get a little louder (if you want to). Or you can just keep on working and let it take its course.
