I was determined to give my family an incredible, memorable Christmas this year. It kept me so busy that I was disconnected from them, even frustrated at times that they wouldn't give me the space I needed to serve them.
It sounds so ridiculous now: they wouldn't give me the space I needed to serve them. But it's so easy to get distracted by urgency in the moment and lose sight of the real objective.
My family doesn't need me to do stuff for them, they need my attention, engagement, empathy and care.
